Whose story is it ?

This is my last work from Africa. These children were working with us in UNICEF mine awareness campaigns – singing, dancing and preforming short sketches in order to help other children better understand how to avoid mine accidents. One afternoon a asked then if I can take their pictures; and then it took me about 20 minutes to do it; but it is also the accumulation of all that I’ve learned in the time I have been working in Africa.
Most people don’t get to tell their own story and  to be the one who is telling the story  is a position of power that carry many hazards. This work is a reflection on these power relationships and the way it influences the future of these children.
